In March 2020, at the start of the first COVID-19 lockdown, I began walking the streets, fields and country lanes of our local parish during the hour of daily exercise and documented what was happening around the community. This was not only for the local archive, which I had created and maintained but also to help those self-isolating at home feel less disconnected from the outside world.  As life returned to some normality in late 2021, I continued the walks, regularly posting updates on the community’s Facebook page and creating a ‘This is Platt’ blog on my website.
